About the Grounded Gal

Growing up I never got grounded – ever. It just wasn’t something my parents did. I mean they tried. They just typically got sucked into letting us kiddos do what we wanted to again.

It’s interesting to me how as a kid growing up the thought of being “grounded” is looked at in a negative light. Yet as we grow older so many of us strive to become grounded.

Of course I realize there are different ways to utilize a singular word. But that’s the point. It’s all about perspective and intent. Wasn’t the true intent of grounding kids to make them “think about what they’ve done” in the first place?

Think through that again. Being grounded to take time to sit calmly in a quiet place and think… Hmm…novel idea.

Sounds familiar ;)

So what does this have to do with The Grounded Gal?

This site and my mission is all about empowering people to become the best versions of themselves. In order to do that, I believe people need to be real with themselves. We all need to take time to get to know our inner roommate and find what drives us. By becoming grounded we are in the best state to understand who we truly are and what we stand for.

There is nothing about this blog that is meant to have you believing I have it all figured out. Because I don’t. It’s a daily struggle and let me tell you friends, the struggle is real. When looked at in a more positive light however, it can be looked at as a practice and something to work on daily. This blog is my way to share a platform of ideas and inspiration on my journey to hopefully inspire you as well.

What can you expect to find here?

Empowerment and inspiration through sharing perspective is my jam. Finding lessons and pearls in moments, quotes, stories, you name it will be shared. And as a leadership junkie and lover of books, nature, and wellness you’ll see sprinkles of perspective from me on those topics as well.

Possibly most importantly, Auntie Duties typically have me beaming so don’t be surprised if you see some auntie love being shared as well.

Thanks so much for being here. I’m so glad we’ve found each other!
